 make sure you have FAT 32 & NTFS (drives C & D)! Jul 28, 2010
...it installed very easily & let me download & upload Windows XP & Windows XP Service Pack 2 two different times but my desktop E Machine with original Windows 98 Second edition (now overwritten) only has a drive C...this means i only have 2% drive space left (because of all the Windows Updates)...it is working very well but now i have to figure out how to create more drive space (another location)[this E machine gave me no indication of this at all] so it's either a partition (drive C:0 drive C:1) or an extra hard drive!...it wasn't the programs fault, it works very well but it won't partition the drive for you, or I can't figure it out!

 Time to drop the price on this Relic ! May 18, 2010
Only a moron would buy this in 2010. I don't know how else to put it, as Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade only costs a few more dollars and comes with Media Center and an actual 2 way firewall.
So who in their right mind would buy Win XP in 2010 ?
If you are considering buying XP PLEASE READ THIS....
For anyone who thinks their hardware will not handle Win 7 THINK AGAIN !
I have personally installed Windows 7 on all of my old hardware, including a Compaq Laptop from 2006 with an Amd Sempron and Ati Radeon Mobillity x200 graphics ... It works better than it did with XP Media Center which it came with and far better than it did with Vista !
An Acer Aspire One netbook and again it worked better than it did with XP in every way.
Also an Emachines from christmas of 2005 with an Amd Sempron and GeForce 6100 and yet agian it worked better with Win 7 than XP, or Vista !
So unless you have a P3 550 with 128 meg of RAM you would have to be a complete ass to buy this for anywhere near the price of Win 7 ...

I had been experiencing problems with Windows 98 --occasional lockups, especially in browsing (ddhelp issues) and messages that the browser was not going to be supported on websites. Of course Win98 is not being supported by Microsoft.
So I purchased this product, once installed it has worked perfectly, no lockups at all or browser issues, it seems to be a very huge improvement over my previous computer issues. It updates automatically, seems to work smoothly with my older programs, and is also apparently faster on browsing. I am very happy with it!

Right before 7 was released this garbage OS downgrade was 200+ dollars WTF!! All upgrades to 7 and downgrades to XP should have been free after the Vista flop! Windows vista, 7 etc is just windows XP with a new coat of paint, rip off. Go back to windows 3.1 and start over.
