 A Good Laptop Webcam for the Price Jul 20, 2010
I bought this for a home laptop so I could video chat with home while I was away for business. This little clip-on webcam got the job done very well. The video and audio quality were far superior to the built-in camera on my work laptop. Installation was easy, and the camera worked great with Skype, even though the packaging talks about MSN Messenger.
The laptop is 5 years old, but the camera worked great, so you shouldn't have trouble with it on reasonably old hardware. If you're looking for very high image quality, then you should probably spend more, since this is really designed for casual use. Also, note that it's only designed for laptops, and there aren't any good ways to mount it to a desktop monitor, or even a way to place it on a table.
Overall, definitely a good value, and I would buy it again.
 The microphone stopped working in less than 2 months Jul 16, 2010
Don't waste your money. This cheap webcam lost it's microphone is less than 2 months. It has an awkward clip for laptops and is generally typical of microsoft's crappy products.

I was pleasantly surprised by this purchase. Easy to install,very compact and once it is on....you forget it is there. Place a video call or receive one. Easy as pie.
A very good wecam for the price Mar 31, 2010
This camera doesn't come in a retail box it's a bulk but still very good for it's price. I got the blue screen several times when I first installed it.. after googling I've found a tip that removing it from the startup programs using 'msconfig' will solve the problem and that did it. Good quality image and the microphone sounds very good too. This was tested on a Windows XP machine using Skype and MS Live Messanger.

the product is not working to my standards...I asked to exchange it and the supplier said I could contact Microsoft directly...I am not happy
It didn't work with Skype which is why I purchased it
it would freeze and not always turn on
I am waiting for Microsoft to contact me with a return email...I am not happy with the supplier
