 Same story here, camera died after one use. Mar 09, 2010
I bought this camera for my daughter for Christmas. She used it one time, and now the camera will not power on. We have tried replacing the battery and that did not help. This seems to be a common problem as I see a few recent reviews whose cameras also will not power on. So, now I need to spend money to ship it to Fuji so they can send me a refurbed unit back. This is a bunch of crap, if I wanted a refurb, I would have bought refurb.

This is the 3rd Fuji finepix series camera that I have purchase for myself or others and it is the best yet. Most cameras have problems with fluorescent lights or sodium lights but this one gives accurate colors every time. Focus is nice and sharp and the recharge time for flash is much better than the others. That may be due to the built in LiIon battery pack which gives great battery life. No more buying a brick of AA alkaline batteries for a special occasion. Great deal for the price.

Nice Package, but Died 5 Wks After Christmas Feb 17, 2010
It was a gift for my son who is deploying overseas. He received it for Christmas, and by the time he came home in early Feb for leave prior to his departure, the CCD had apparently died. He bought a new camera, lacking time to get this one repaired. So we can get it fixed and have an extra camera, or return it for credit and swallow the cost of the battery and extra memory.
Seemed like a nice package, but I can't say I'm impressed by the quality. Wish I'd stuck with Canon.

I bought a this camera for my grandaughter who absolutely loved it!!! UNTIL IS STOPPED WORKING FOR NO APPARENT REASON ON FEBRUARY 5TH!!!!!!!! I reviewed several cameras before I bought it and felt it was a good buy for a great camera---OOOPS! WAS I EVER WRONG!!!! My son (who knows more about technology than I ever will) tried various ways to turn the thing on and was not able to do so. I have no clue what went wrong After reading the nine reviews already on this site for this camera--IT SEEMS THIS IS IS A COMMON PROBLEM...They were NOT on the reviews when I bought this camera. I'm appalled Amazon is even selling this. Also, as a long time customer I'm very disappointed that they won't accept a return. This was for my grandaughter's birthday in late November--(Is the life span of an expensive camera REALLY 3 MONTHS--I don't think so!!!)
I bought nearly all my Christmas gifts on Amazon. I'll probally reconsider any electronics I'll buy from them again---I'll also advise most of my friends to do the same.

I was shopping for a digital camera and saw this one on Amazon.com. What sold me were the pictures that people had taken. Thay were so clean and crisp! I kept waiting for the price to go down where it would be more affordable but i ended up getting the same one on Ebay for 50.00 less. It is a great camera!
