 New printer case recommendation... Jul 25, 2010
As another reviewer noted the printer does not come with a case. The CaseMate Glovez 15" case is no longer available, but the Case Logic MacBook Pro 15" sleeve fits the Ip100 perfectly (with room for the optional battery to be attached) and has an outside zipped pocket that accommodates the power adaptor and an USB cable...perfect fit!
Canon PIXMA iP 100 Mobile Photo Printer Jul 20, 2010
This printer, which I use to prepare presentations for clients while on-the-road (most of my working life, these days) actually has capabilities beyond what I need. I have seen evidence of photos printed on this machine, and they were amazing.  Excellent printer for the frequent traveler. Jul 07, 2010
I travel about 40 weeks every year and I like to take a printer with me to print certificates after my seminars. I used the Canon iP90 for about 3 years before it failed and posted a permanent "waste ink absorber is full" message. So I replaced it with an iP100 and it works very well. I recently talked to an ex-Canon tech support person regarding the "waste ink absorber ..." message. She recommends removing the ink cartridges before getting on a plane. Apparently the pressure changes force ink out of the cartridge filling up the absorber more quickly than usual.
Pros: Good build quality. Dependable. Fair price. Simple to set up and use.
Cons: Does not come with Bluetooth transceiver. You can buy an optional Bluetooth dongle, which is ridiculous to use because it sticks out and has to be removed/re-inserted each time. Also, ink cartridges are expensive and apparently proprietary now. I used to buy iP90 ink from a discount online store. Not so for iP100 ink.

We liked this printer so much we bought another. It is light, easy to use, and does not take up much room. We do not do photos on it, so I have no opinion on how it prints photos -- but for regular printing jobs, we love it!

It has good print quality but seems to grab more then one sheet of paper often and paper jams frequently, if you can get past that it is a good travel size for people needing something compact on the go.
